Adults often progress quickly with grammar and reading, but speaking is the piece that stalls without regular practice. Lessons with Siwen prioritize real conversation in Mandarin, corrected gently in the moment, instead of only textbook drills.

Teens preparing for school Chinese, college placement, or family communication get the same speaking-first approach, with goals set around their timeline.

Formats and scheduling

Choose small-group lessons at $35/hour (max six students) for peer conversation practice, or private 1-on-1 lessons at $50/hour for a fully personalized plan. There are no enrollment fees — you only pay for lessons you book.

Meet online through Google Meet or in person at a mutually agreed public location in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, such as a coffee shop or library. The meeting place is confirmed with each student. Weekday evenings after 3 PM and weekend times are available.
